Welcome to My New TchReview Blog
Welcome to the blog.
Hello, welcome to the site/blog where I will be discussing everything from Tech review, restoration projects, and neat tech related products.
Before we dive deep however let’s start with the simple things. My name Is Drew Guy and over the last four years ive dedicated my time and skills to understanding and appreciating good hardware and software. One of the things you will often see me talk about is my love for AMD and the things they have been doing over the last few years, so be ready for that!
Experience
As I stated earlier in my opening, i have been working hands on with computers and all different types of hardware. The truth is that it’s only been about four years or so but for how much i’ve learned and used you could say i’m a quick learner who tends to dive deep into the things i’m pursuing. Being from a home where we didnt have pc of any kind or brand, all the things i’ve done would make the young me pause and wonder who he would soon be. In late 2016 a good friends of mine sold me his AMD Rx 480 8gb graphics card (GPU). That was the real start of it all, for the entire year leading up to this purchase i had spent hours and hours on YouTube watching guys like “JaysTwoCents” “TheBitWit” and even “GamersNexus” making these next gen pc’s and paying close attention to detail and termanology. I had been waiting for this day GPU in hand I took advantage of my local yard sales to find a rig. Twenty bucks and two-ish hours later there I was with my hands on the proper ingredients for a true budget rig! From here tho I could now play MOST if not all of my new steam games but something felt wrong. Slow clock speeds and outdated hardware working with current causing slight bottleneck and less than decent airflow. For the most part that was ok for gaming due to it being almost unnoticeable, BUT ( and there is always a but) with the power to game came the want to mod and put my personal stamp on the games I love and spent hours in. So i took to blender to custom make my own mods, enter the real issue with all my above problems. Blender running on a dick drive with a AMD athlon 2, my blender renders were awful! Working with it was ok at first but the more time i spend on my projects the longer my times would render even if there was some wiggle room, my need for more power was more of a hunger at this point. After a year or so of building and upgrading different variants of my pc I finally had saved enough money to build a new system and pic out every part. Since then i’ve been working with software more than anything but on something that has handled everything I threw at it, parts list below.
My Rig,
The computer I put together after i saved what I thought was enough is a Ryzen 7 1900, keeping my cpu cool is a NZXT hybrid cooler, trident Z G Skillz 32gb, my RX 480 (Soon to be replaced with a 5700 Thick III) 2tb of ssd storage, an EVGA 850 silver power supply and an Asrock 4k motherboard
Done with my introduction,
